This stellar example of upcycling at it's best is a fantastic tote bag made from upcycled UNHCR refugee tents. The bags themselves are sewn by Syrian refugees and each one is unique.
The Zaatari Refugee Camp in Syria is home to nearly 80,000 Syrian refugees. After fleeing war or persecution, the opportunity to work and earn a living is one of the most effective ways people can rebuild their lives in dignity and peace.
This project provides refugee women with the training, space and materials they need to make these stunning tote bags from old, discarded refugee tents thereby creating a sustainable method for income creation.
Thank you for helping these refugees be a part of the global economy.
