Vegan, handmade and all natural plastic-free shampoo bar
This is a solid shampoo bar infused with seaweed powder and Bain & Savon's own nettle and peppermint infusion. The nettle and peppermint infusion comes from their vegetable garden in Cumbria.
Seaweed Powder is a rich source of vitamins including vitamins B12 (not found in land plants), vitamin E, amino acids, minerals, trace elements, and other nutrients. It makes for an effective cleansing and exfoliating agent.
Peppermint acts as an astringent, normalising both dry and oily hair. When applied to oily skin or scalp it helps reduce any excess oil. An oily scalp can lead to greasy hair, and the peppermint helps to regulate your scalp’s oil production and eliminate the grease. Peppermint oil can soothe skin irritations and relieve pain and itching. This makes it ideal for those who have dry or irritated scalps, as it can help fight dandruff and eliminate the itching associated with this condition.
Nettle increases blood flow to your scalp. It also oxygenates your hair follicles and strengthens hair fibres, promoting healthier, shinier, fuller hair. It is also used to treat dandruff.
Freshly handmade in the UK in small batches. Suitable for vegans, this shampoo bar contains no animal products and is not tested on animals.

How to use: Solid shampoo bars are more concentrated that normal shampoos.
Lather the shampoo bar in your hands and apply the foam to your hair and wash as you would a liquid shampoo. Rinse and repeat concentrating on getting your whole head and scalp washed.
Alternatively, thoroughly wet hair and rub the bar over your scalp and down the hair shaft. Work it into a wonderful lather. You may find this is applying too much product for you and leaving the hair waxy even when through the transition phase (see below).
It is important to rinse well and remove any residue especially at the nape of the neck. You may need a cider vinegar rinse afterwards. It will rebalance the pH (soap is an alkaline and our skin is slightly acidic), help remove any residue and leave your hair shiny.

Transitioning to Shampoo Bars
When you first switch to natural shampoo bars, you may go through what is called a “transition phase”. During this time your hair may feel like it has a waxy residue on it.
There are three reasons this happens: 1) You may live in a hard water area. 2) Conventional shampoos and conditioners contain silicone to make your hair feel soft and look shiny. These products leave residues that natural products find hard to remove. 3) Conventional shampoos tend to remove your natural oils causing your scalp to react and over-produce oils to compensate. As natural shampoo bare are more gentle it may take time for your scalp to adjust to a new washing method.
It may take a few washes to get used to using a shampoo bar (more about transitioning to shampoo bars in our blog). A Cider Vinegar Rinse can help smooth the transition and keeps your hair and scalp healthy.
Please don’t use your shampoo bar once or twice and decide you don’t like it - everyone’s hair is different and it may take a little time for your hair to adjust. It takes time to rid your hair from all the residue left over from the chemicals in commercial shampoos. Give your hair time to adjust to the lack of chemicals and hair product build up. If you can stick it out and get through this period, you will realise just how much healthier your hair is. It will be soft and shiny in no time! 💚🌍

Undelivered Orders
It is the customer's responsibility to check all delivery address details are correct before completing your purchase. Orders that go missing or are delivered to an incorrect address cannot be retrieved or replaced by us, if the delivery details were incorrect.
If your item is returned to us undelivered (for an incorrect postal address, not collected from courier in time, etc.), you will need to pay the full postage cost (i.e. £3.00 for a Royal Mail small parcel) to have your order resent to you.
We cannot refund orders that have not been delivered until 10 working days have passed since we posted it. They are still in the Royal Mail network and on their way.

Returns
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
Returns made outside of the UK must be paid for by the customer.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, saleable and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original undamaged packaging. We cannot refund your delivery cost.
Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on toothbrushes, toiletries & cosmetics (including toothpaste, sunscreen and make-up), sanitary products (pads, pants & cups), tights & socks, or underwear.
We also cannot send a pre-paid label for an exchange if you did not receive your requested colour or pattern for a product that states we will send you one at random. We do our best to fulfil your requests based on the stock on hand. If you which to exchange such items, you can do so by paying the return postage yourselves.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
Returns Postage
To make a return, please email us to receive an email with a pre-paid postage label and instructions regarding how to return the item to us. You will need to print your label and take the parcel to the Post Office. Your return postage will not be refunded if you pay for it yourself.
We cannot offer free returns on sale items.
If you are shipping an item over £50, you should consider using a trackable postal service at your own cost. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, then your refund will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 5 working days. This will be the cost of the item returned and not include delivery costs.
If your items is not returned in a saleable condition you will need to pay to have your items returned to you again as they are your property. Please ensure you are eligible for a refund before returning an item to us.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
