This untreated beech wood vegetable brush is a beautifully ergonomic design. 100% plastic-free and natural, with plant-based bristles (Tampico & Union Fibre).
This clever brush is created from sustainable and vegan natural materials. No plastic scourers around forever or plastic bristles left floating in the oceans for millennia. The Union Fibre is slightly stiffer for scrubbing hard vegetables like root veg. The Tampico Fibre is slightly softer for other vegetables and fruit that could bruise more easily.
Tampico fibre or Mexican fibre is the yellow leaf fibre of the agave cactus, which grows only in the highlands of northern Mexico, giving Mexico a natural monopoly on the material. Following final dressing the fibre has a length of 300–500 mm and is traded as Tampico fibre, named after the port of Tampico. Nature has created a very robust fibre, resistant to acid and alkaline solutions and to heat. Good elasticity and optimum water absorption make the fibre suitable for many applications, including household brushes and robust massage and nail brushes.
Union Fibre is a mixture of Tampico and Palmyra - a dried palm leaf.
All Redecker brushes are FSC certified. The FSC label is granted to wooden products that come from responsibly managed forests or plantations – certified in accordance with the strict guidelines of the Forest Stewardship Council.
