Weaver Green makes beautiful, soft, handwoven indoor and outdoor rugs and textiles from yarn spun entirely from recycled plastic bottles.
With over 30 billion plastic bottles finding their way into our seas each year and over 90% of all marine birds having plastic deposits in their stomachs, Weaver Green felt it important to look at creative and useful ways of recycling plastic bottles and making them into valuable and beautiful additions to our homes. Their range of environmentally friendly rugs and blankets look and feel like wool but contain between 50 and 750 recycled plastic bottles each. Read more below...
Why we love them: This is recycling and reusing! A fantastic invention that feels just like textile unlike other recycled plastic rugs - you have to feel it to believe it. They are keeping plastic out of the North Pacific Gyre. These incredible rugs and blankets can be used outside (try them under your outdoor table), washed at 30C and hung out to rapidly dry.
