This cool-headed shark knows how to have a good time. They’ve figured out the key to a long life – having few pups and hanging around with groups (or rather, shivers) of friends. Their unique head shape means they’ll always have a conversation piece at the Finding Nemo afterparty, but what is often failed to mention is how it actually makes them more vulnerable to fishing nets… Hammerhead sharks are on the red list for endangerment, largely due to over fishing and demand within the shark fin trade. Their population is said to have declined almost 80% from its original number! 

Each purchase of these furry friends helps to raise awareness of their not-so-furry real life counterparts, illustrating the importance of keeping our marine ecosystems safe from human threat.

These toys are made from recycled plastic, which helps to remove harmful objects from the ocean and maintain a safer home for our flat-headed friends.

Did you know? 14 water bottles create enough fibre to make this 25cm soft toy! What a great way to repurpose waste. The bottles are shredded, crushed and melted to create yarn which is woven to create the base fabric.

The making of these beautiful toys has helped to recycle and repurpose more than 100 million water bottles. Considering many of the animals in this range have been affected by the manufacture and disposal of plastic, we think this is an amazing way to break the harmful cycle and raise awareness at the same time!

Keeleco is the 100% recycled range from Keel Toys. These toys are manufactured and stuffed with 100% recycled polyester from plastic waste. Weighted with recycled glass beads, these floppy toys have been perfectly designed for hugging by a loving new friend. Traditional glass eyes have been replaced with recycled polyester embroidered eyes which give a unique, and playful character to these Eco soft toys. The iconic Keel symbol and hang tag are now formed from card and attached to the toy with recycled polyester thread.
