When the goats in Catherine's smallholding started kidding, they produced more milk than the kids, butter, cheese, yoghurt and ice-cream could handle, so Catherine came up with the idea of making soap - waste not, want not! Their gorgeously creamy range of soaps are made with natural oils and butters using the ancient and traditional cold process method, using pure essential oils, herbs and root powders for fragrance, colour and texture. They do have a fragrance-free option available too. Each soap takes around 4 weeks to make in Cyril's old shed (Catherine's grandad). As well as having a luxurious texture, the fresh raw milk contains vitamins and minerals that are moisturising, whilst remaining kind to even the gentlest of skins. The creaminess of goats milk soap lends itself well to conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin, as it keeps skin nourished and hydrated thanks to its non-stripping properties. Goats milk also has similar pH levels to human skin, and is naturally high in vitamins, minerals and alpha hydroxy acids, that nourish and rejuvenate. Containing NO palm oil, parabens, SLS/SLES, artificial fragrance, synthetic colours or animal testing, Cyril's Soap Shed products are 100% suitable for vegetarians. And they are all packaged in a recyclable cardboard box, meaning no nasty plastic waste!
