PATCH was born when James Dutton (the founder of Nutricare) discovered that there is an array of chemicals that lurk in the common plasters. When he noticed his son's wound was getting worse due to an allergic reaction to the standard plaster he had applied, James became motivated to find better alternatives to wound care. He learnt that many people are allergic to common plasters and are unable to wear them. Determined to create a biodegradable alternative that could be used by even those with the most sensitive of skins, James created the world's first natural approach to wound care. It is 100% biodegradable and totally hypoallergenic, making it the most sensitive and natural wound care alternative on the market. Whilst most regular plasters contain plastic (yes - even some of the fabric ones) or come in a plastic container, they also contain skin irritants that can cause a reaction. PATCH strips are made with soft organic bamboo fibre and gauze with hypoallergenic Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA). Their PSA formulation is made from a combination of natural minerals and Nano technology to gently adhere to the skin without causing reactions. There are several options in the range - natural, aloe vera (to soothe), activated charcoal (to aid healing) and cute kids versions with a panda design. These plasters are perfect for cuts and grazes, blisters and burns or even just very adventurous children! The packaging is made from recycled cardboard. Even the individual wrappers that keep the plasters sterile are eco-friendly - one side is made from rice paper and the other side is biodegradable paper. The tabs that cover the plaster itself (the sticky bit!) are made from rice paper too! So, if you want wound care that is free from irritating chemicals that will protect and heal even sensitive skin, then PATCH is the brand for you.
